Makro to double their manufacturing facility in Goito
Due to a nearly doubling of orders in recent months, the owners of Makro Labelling in Goito, Italy are starting the latest phase of their development, by increasing their factory space with a new 4000m2 manufacturing building and a further 800m2 office block.
To-date Makro have built over 700 machines since the company was founded in 2009. When they moved in to the new factory the directors thought the facility, which was already twice as big as the factory where it all began, would be sufficient for their needs in the medium term, but this has not been the case, so the decision has been made to expand manufacturing in Italy.
Max Manzotti, President and Sales Director said of this latest development, "Our order books currently mean we will have to make at least 30 machines a month from now on, which are all much larger and faster than the first machines we made less than 10 years ago when we started. Our Export business continues to be the backbone of the company and we are now on the approved lists of suppliers for most of the global players in the Beer, Cider, Wines and Spirits, Soft Drinks and Water businesses."
Max continued, "When we exhibited at last year's drinktec in Munich, we had a wonderful reaction to our stand from major players, many of whom have since placed very large orders with us. We are no longer viewed as a young company, but more the leading supplier of labelling equipment with many patented ideas that are resonating with our ever-growing customer base."
The new factory extension and offices are due to open towards the end of this year, with a recruitment campaign now under way to double the number of staff to help cope with the growing order book.
