Morrison Bowmore Distillers order Makro Labeller

Morrison Bowmore Distillers of Springburn Road Glasgow, part of Beam Suntory, have just placed an order for a Makro MAK 2 6p Ug Lu wet glue labeller. The order was placed through Makro’s Scottish agents Jayco Packaging.

Morrison Bowmore, one of the leading contract whisky bottlers in Scotland, wanted to apply a wet glue tax strip to the Teachers 250ml PET flask bottles at 120 b.p.m. The bottles are destined for the Duty Free and Export markets.

Richard Portman, Managing Director of Makro Labelling UK said, "We have been working closely with our agents, Jayco Packaging, on this order as Morrison Bowmore and the Teachers brand is very prestigious. Tax strips, apart from the tamper proof element that helps to preserve the integrity of high ends brands, add an up-market element when brand owners position the products on duty free shelves and bars across the globe. We have received a number of orders in Scotland in recent times, where Makro labellers have been supplied blocked to filling machines for high speed lines and also being installed as replacement stand-alone labellers."

Richard continued, "Makro have recently supplied a number of twin turret and single turret tax strip labellers, they are very popular in the Spirits markets globally where brand owners see the benefit of applying a tax strip. The MAK 2 applies the tax strip with precision, enhancing the branding on the bottle."
