Magic order for Makro Labelling
As the UK grappled with two bouts of snow in early March followed by almost continuous rain, Makro Labelling UK received an order from Sunmagic in Llantrisant, Wales, so adding a ray of sunshine to what had been a very dull month.
Sunmagic has enjoyed continuous growth over the past few years not only for their highly successful 100% pure juices, school compliant flavoured waters and cold pressed smoothies all under their own branding, but the company has also developed a strong line of own label products for the high-end retailers in the UK.
With sales booming some components on the two existing lines at Llantrisant needed upgrading, so in very quick time from the first enquiry to placing an order, a new Makro MAK-2 Self-Adhesive Labeller was ordered and is due for installation in early August.
Richard Portman, Managing Director of Makro Labelling UK said, "We had dealings with the Site Director, Simon Greenwood, when he was previously at Framptons in Shepton Mallet, so he was very familiar with Makro labellers and my company in the UK. Simon placed an order for the Makro MAK-2 12 platform labeller that will run at 12,000 b.p.h. applying wraparound self-adhesive labels onto round, triangular, hexagonal and square PET bottles ranging from 250ml to 1 litre in size. This machine offers clients very quick changeovers whatever the label or bottle size and as the run lengths are not always that long there can be up to six changeovers per shift. The flexibility built in to Makro labelling machines was key to the client coming to us."
Richard continued, "Yet again the start of this year has been a record in terms of machine orders and installations. Here in the UK we have recently installed the largest wet glue labeller that Makro has made at Shepherd Neame in Faversham, together with one of the fastest Roll Feed wraparound labellers that Makro have built to-date being supplied to Clearly Drinks in Sunderland. All this success is on top of the orders we have received for our complete lines for micro brewers and spirit bottlers so 2018 is proving to be yet another very exciting year for us."
